Pop-In
Pop-In is a visual arts exhibition inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
This photographic and digital exhibition was conceived by Ben-Azeera Lela of Phlik in collaboration with Hitesh Rao of Photographitz and Lincolnshire Poet Laureate Joel Stickley.
Pop-In focuses on 12 young people who have a connection with the East Midlands and explored their hopes, ambitions and aspirations during London 2012. A combination of make-up, fashion and poems created a series of photographs that captured their identity and the distractions and distortions that exist in their lives.
The exhibition ran from 22 October to 9 November 2012 at The Exchange and LCB Depot within the Cultural Quarter in Leicester. It was later exhibited at Peepul Centre in December 2012 leading to a commission by singer and song writer Navin Kundra.
